South Korean technology companies Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have announced plans to expand long-term memory chip supplies to major U.S. technology companies through agreements valued at a combined $950 billion, according to a senior presidential adviser.

The partnerships are expected to strengthen semiconductor cooperation between South Korea and the United States while helping meet growing global demand for advanced memory chips used in artificial intelligence, cloud computing and high-performance data centers.

According to presidential adviser Kim Yong-beom, SK Hynix will supply approximately $750 billion worth of memory chips to several major U.S. technology companies under long-term agreements. Samsung Electronics will separately provide about $200 billion in semiconductor products to Broadcom.

The adviser said the agreements include partnerships with leading American technology firms, including Nvidia, although further details about the individual contracts, timelines and product specifications were not immediately released.

The announcement comes as competition in the global semiconductor industry continues to intensify, with technology companies investing heavily in advanced chips to support artificial intelligence systems and next-generation computing infrastructure.

South Korea is one of the world's largest semiconductor producers, and Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix remain among the leading manufacturers of memory chips. The new agreements further reinforce their role as key suppliers to the global technology industry.
